Job Description
Position: Electrical Engineer
Location: Reko Diq SITE – Chagai, Balochistan, PK
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience: 8+ years in electrical engineering with focus on mining and heavy industries.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of HV, MV, and LV systems in mining.
- Hands-on experience with utility corridors, substation design, and technical documentation.
- Proven ability to ensure technical quality, coordination, and cost-effectiveness.
- Familiarity with project standards, procedures, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
- Expertise in QA, safety, HSE, and OH&S compliance.
- Proficient in procurement, construction support, and commissioning.
- Skilled in protection coordination, arc flash assessments, and electrical design calculations.
- Experience preparing material take-offs, datasheets, and specifications.
- Knowledge of power system modelling, protection settings, and electrical asset management.
- Experience liaising with power authorities; familiarity with Siemens, ABB, Schneider.
- Exposure to thermal power plants, renewable energy projects, and microgrids.
- Strong knowledge of IEC and Pakistan electrical codes; proficient in engineering software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver infrastructure projects involving HV, MV, and LV systems in mining.
- Design utility corridors and substations; prepare reports, calculations, briefs, specs, drawings, and schedules.
- Ensure technical quality, coordination, and cost-effectiveness of projects.
- Follow standards and procedures to execute assigned work effectively.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and Project Management; manage budgets and schedules.
- Ensure compliance with QA, safety, and environmental guidelines; implement OH&S procedures.
- Support procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Conduct protection coordination, arc flash studies, earthing, lightning, and mitigation planning.
- Perform electrical calculations, drawing reviews, material take-offs, and documentation.
- Oversee camp/office power distribution and safety; maintain asset registers and checklists.
- Inspect, test, and commission HV and LV electrical equipment.
